Steve Nash
Sun's Driver
Number One

Steve Nash
This man is the greatest team player in basketball ever. He happens to be a two year back to back Most Valuable Player in the NBA while playing for the Phoenix Suns in 2005 and 2006.

Steve was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1974. While still a toddler, his family relocated to Canada. Steve did not pick up a basketball until he was 12 years old. He predicted his fate as an early teen, to his mother, that he would play in the NBA and be a basketball star. So he is.

When he is on the court moving the ball, you never know if he will shoot from outside, pull up and shoot next to the key, drive it to the basket or pass it to the open man who is in play to make the shot.

He is a great wind of energy that is focused on winning. His moves are more like a scrambling deer on the court but his execution is precise. His follow through is very intelligent and very well thought out. His hustle does not compensate for his lack of talent. He has both hustle and talent. He does not hog the ball like many players in the NBA today.

He makes the game very exciting for the fans. It is often incredible and hard to believe what you see before your very eyes. He is only 6 foot 3 inches tall. At 34 years old he may lose some steam from here on out but the Phoenix Suns would be wise to keep him until he can’t play anymore.

This player is the binding motivation for the Suns to work as a team. That alone is more valuable than all his other talents combined. Most teams in the NBA, rely on a franchise player but you can’t really win until the team comes together and works the machine. Steve Nash does that and all our Arizonans and visiting Canadians love to watch him.

The Suns of Phoenix rise to Championships if they follow your lead. Thanks for steppin' up!
